Sheila finds success in Portugal
Saturday July 4, 2009
Spain Tennis Academy player Sheila Solsona found success on a tour to Portugal this past May 2009.
During a month of competition in several ITF Womens US$10,000 events – Vila Real de Santo Antonio, Cantanhede, Braga y Amarante – Sheila picked up 17 valuable WTA points in Singles and 14 points in Doubles (partnering Spain Tennis Academy player Rebeca Bou).
Sheila had some very tough matches and demonstrated an extra level of mental toughness by winning two matches from match point down, including one match when she had to overcome 7 match points for her opponent before finally winning.
Her best results were two Singles semi-finals and one Doubles final.
Congratulations to Sheila for her success on this tour, and for reaching a personal ranking high of #629 (22 Jun 2009).
