Jonathan Stubbs

Spain Tennis Academy co-Director is Jonathan Stubbs, a British coach who has been involved with tennis in Spain for over 20 years.

A former National Coach of two countries, Jonathan has worked with National Champions from various countries, Davis Cup teams, ITF top-10 Juniors and several WTA and ATP Tour players, and instituted the first professional tennis academy in India – the High Performance Tennis Centre.

Vicente Solsona

Vicente Solsona is one of Spain’s leading coaches and co-Director of Spain Tennis Academy.

A former Technical Director of Bruguera’s Tennis Academy, Vicente has worked and traveled with many top players, including Olympic Silver Medallist Jordi Arrese, Albert Portas, Oscar Martinez, Julian Alonso, German Puentes, two-time French Open winner Sergi Bruguera and others.

Juan Carlos Gines

Spain Tennis Academy Fitness Trainer is Juan Carlos Gines. A former Spanish top-ten 800 and 1500 metres athlete, Juan Carlos has been working with high-level tennis players for many years.

Juan Carlos believes in individually prepared periodisation training for success in tennis, including an advanced aerobic capacity and tennis-specific strength and power.

Claret Rosset

Claret Rosset is the Spain Tennis Academy Tennis Professional. A former top-100 ranked Spanish player, Claret is the 2007 Gold Medallist of the World Police and Fireman Games, held in Adelaide, Australia.

Claret’s duties include all aspects of training at Spain Tennis Academy – coaching, touring (local and international) and sparring practice.

Balachandran Manikkath

Balachandran – better known as Balu – is an ITF Level 3 coach, ITF Tutor and the former Director of the High Performance Tennis Centre in Bangalore, India.

Balu has worked with hundreds of top players throughout his career, and is recognised as one of the finest coaches in Asia. A former Mens Doubles Champion of India, Balu currently works with some of India’s best young players.

Joan Ribas

Joan Ribas is our consultant Sports Psychologist. A specialist in the field of tennis sports psychology, Joan has dedicated years in the study and development of his methods of training.

Joan’s main responsibility at Spain Tennis Academy is to develop the mental skills of our Annual program players.
